Flaten Art Museum: Northfield

St. Olaf’s Flaten Art Museum hosts exhibits of regional, national, and international significance. The college’s permanent collection includes more than 4,000 paintings, fine art prints, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, graphic arts, and textiles from around the world.  

 

Ivan Whillock Woodcarving Studio: Faribault

Ivan Whillock did his first wood carvings at the age of twelve in his father’s furniture shop. He received his art degree in 1959 and has studied with sculptor Angel Lillo, and master carver Eduardo Gutierrez. Ivan’s Wood sculpture, bronze statues, and reliefs can be found in churches, businesses and private collections around the world. 

 

Little Theatre of Owatonna

The Little Theatre of Owatonna has been producing plays in Owatonna and bringing culture and entertainment to the community for close to 60 years. Check their website for this year's season line up.


Lockwood Theater Company - Northfield

The Lockwood Theater Company grew out of Northfield’s rich theatrical tradition. The company produces a broad range of theatrical presentation. LTC’s signature production is “Jesse”, Northfield’s treasured musical retelling of the story of notorious train and bank robber, Jesse James. Performed in the style of turn-of-the-century music hall melodramas, the audience is strongly encouraged to loudly cheer the heroes and hiss at the villains as the story unfolds through comedy and, of course, tragedy. 

 

Northfield Arts Guild: Northfield

The Arts Guild is housed in two historic buildings. The Downtown Center for the Arts includes an art gallery, dance studio, recital room, art classrooms, gift store and administrative offices. A few blocks away, a year-round season of theater is performed in a converted church. 

Northfield Arts Guild Theater: Northfield

Northfield Arts Guild Theater presents a year-round season of lively musicals, entertaining comedies and heartwarming dramas. This is a community theater, meaning that local talent makes it all happen! The 118-seat venue is an intimate setting perfect for music, theater, and other community events.

Owatonna Arts Center: Owatonna

Spend an afternoon enjoying the current art exhibit at the Owatonna Art Center and the diverse group of works by local and regional artists, which comprises the majority of the OAC permanent collection. For 50 years, the Owatonna Arts Center has been a cultural beacon serving community members by inviting them to explore, experience, and engage in unique and meaningful art experiences. Self-Guided Tour Hours: Tuesday-Sunday 1pm - 5pm. 

Paradise Center for the Arts: Faribault

Built in 1929 on the site of the former Faribault Opera House, the Paradise was recently renovated. Originally built to seat 915, the Paradise has been altered to seat 300. The remainder of the building has become a multipurpose art center with an exhibition gallery, classrooms, and retail space, with fully restored facades in the lobby.
